What does an intermediate certificate error look like?
When using the DigiCert® SSL Installation Diagnostic Tool, you and your family members may receive one of the following intermediate certificate errors:
“The server is not sending all the required intermediate certificates.”
“Your host server is sending too many newbie intermediate certificates.”
Fortunately, you can solve most of these problems with the DigiCert® Certificate Utility for Windows.
Using The DigiCert Certificate Utility To Troubleshoot A Certificate Chain
Typically, on the Windows server where your SSL certificate is installed, download and register the DigiCert the® Certificate Utility for Windows exe (DigiCertUtil.exe).
Run DigiCert® Certificate Utility on Windows DigiCertUtil (double click.

How do I test an SSL certificate in Windows Server?

In the DigiCert for Windows© Certificate Utility, click SSL (Golden Lock), determine which certificate you really need to regenerate, then click Regenerate Certificate.

After receiving the message “Looks like this certificate was successfully restored”, click “OK”.
Usually reboot the server or force the server to flush and reload the current certificate chain into memory.
Note. If you’re still getting Newbie Newborn Certificate errors after the SSL certificate is active and your home server is restarted, you may need to force clean the server of the new current certificate chain from memory so that you reload it.

Reconfigure The Certificate For Your IIS Website Or Exchange After Domain

For IIS 10 web server
Open Information Services Manager (IIS).
From the Windows menu, type and open IIS Manager.
In IIS Manager, located in the Connections menu tree (left pane), expand the server name, expand the Sites node, and then select a site or domain.
On the Actions menu (right pane), under Site, click Bindings.
In the Website Bindings window, select the https binding for the website or domain, then tap Edit with your finger.
In the Edit Site Binding window, pay attention to the playback settings:
- A type
- IP address
- Host name (when using Server Name Indication [SNI])
- Require server name (if The indicator uses Server Name Indication [SNI])
- SSL certificate
After saving the information, click Cancel.
In the Site Bindings window, select https (usually a site or web address binding) and click Remove.
Now in the back “Site Bindings” window, click “Add”.
In our “Add Site Binding” window, select the “https” drop-down menu from the entire “Type” list.
Use some of the information you gathered before we removed the anchor to populate it again, I would say, the fields in the “Add Site Link” window.
To verify that the certificate is now displayed correctly, enter the common name or SAN of your own certificate in the DigiCert® SSL Installation Master Diagnostic Tool.
For IIS 8 servers
Open the IIS Advice Manager.
How do you test if SSL certificate is working?
Click the padlock icon in the World Wide Web address bar. In the dedicated pop-up window, click Certificate (Valid). Check valid start and end dates to make sure the SSL certificate is usually up to date.
On the main screen, enter more and click IIS Manager.
In IIS Manager, before connections, expand your name, create server sites, and then click blog or domain.
From the Actions menu only, click Edit Site, Bindings.
In the Site window, under Bindings, select the https shown for the site or domain, then click Edit.
In the Edit Site Anchor window, note the following options:
Hostname (if server uses name hint)
The server name is required (if the server uses a name specification)
After saving the information, click Cancel.
In this Site Anchors window, select https, usually a site or URL anchor, and click Remove.
Now click Add.
In the Add Site Binding window, in the Type list, select the https drop-down list.
Use the information you collected prior to deleting the link, which may result in fields being repopulated in the Add Site Link window.
To verify that the instrument is now listed correctly, enter the common name or SAN of your trusted certificate into the DigiCert® SSL Setup Diagnostic Tool.
For IIS 7 web server
Open the Information Services (IIS) Manager (Start > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services Manager).
In IIS Manager, under Connections, expand the server name, expand the Sites node, and then select the site and domain.
How do I fix certificate error in IIS?
